In the afternoon of September 29, the 2022 Orientation Conference of the School of Statistics and Data Science and the Inauguration Ceremony of Entropy Index Joint Laboratory were held in Tin Ka Ping Concert Hall of Nankai University and simulcasted online.
Ma Zhiming, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Dean of the School of Statistics and Data Science, Bao Jigang, Chairman of Shenzhen Wukong Investment Management Co., Ltd. and alumnus of the 1987 Mathematics Class, Xia Shutao, Chief Scientific Advisor of Shenzhen Wukong Investment Management Co., Ltd. and alumnus of the 1988 Mathematics Class and Head of Computer Science of Tsinghua University Shenzhen Graduate School, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.
Professor Ma announced that with the financial support of alumnus Mr. Bao Jigang, the School will cooperate with Shenzhen Wukong Investment Management Co., Ltd. to establish the Entropy Index Joint Laboratory to promote the development of industry-academia-research integration.
